About latex - Rubber

Latex is a liquid substance flowing through the vessels (latex vessels) of more than 200 vegetal species. The most wel-known of them is called, HEVEA BRASILIENSIS, also called RUBBER tree.

LATEX AND RUBBER, are the different words equally used to designate this substance.

We get in touch and maintain links with national and international associations and other organizations who attain similar aims, that is, that our quality of life does not get damaged due to being allergic to latex.

We, the people with latex allergy, have no problems with plastic materials although some of us, the same as other people, might present some kind of allergic reactions to some substances added during the manufacturing process of plastic items.

There are also people who even presenting any kind of allergic reaction with latex items, are not allergic to latex proteins but to the components used in the manufacturing process of these items.

Latex is a substance that can be found in many articles at the present moment, so there are publications in which more than 40.000 products that may be made of latex or contain latex to a larget or a certain extent are mentioned.
